Every export starts from the Export button in the Studio's top bar (File ▸ Export in the menu bar). Exports run in the background — keep working while they render — and a panel range selected in the timeline limits them to that range.
- Storyboard Package (.sboardx) — the open interchange file (⌘E). It opens in Upshot, the web reader and Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, and round-trips through Upshot without loss. The Library's card menu writes one too (Save project to file).
- Movie (.mov) — a rendered animatic at the project resolution, 24 fps, H.264 with the audio tracks mixed in and the camera moves played; optionally each panel's dialogue burned in as a subtitle.
- Avid AAF Package — a folder with the .aaf timeline, a still per panel and the audio, for Avid Media Composer. The raster is always 16:9 1920×1080: other aspect ratios show adjacent canvas content in the pillar or letterbox area.
- PDF — panels on paper: one or three panels per page, A4 or Letter, with dialogue and notes, camera frames optional.
- Panel Images — PNG or JPEG at the project resolution. Full panel is everything the camera covers (camera frames optional); Camera view is what the camera sees, one image per framing. Dialogue can be burned in as a subtitle.
Importing. A .sboardx opens from the Library's Open Project from file (⌘O) or by sending it to Upshot from Files, Mail or AirDrop; it becomes a new board. Audio comes in from the timeline's import button (⌥⌘I), images and SVG drawings from the Layers tab's image button (⇧⌘I).
